Why Stan Gerdes suing to take me off the ballot

We had a great time talking to voters at the Kolache Festival in Caldwell (Burleson County) on Saturday.

Kleptocracy is a government by people who use their power to steal their country's (our communities') resources.

Stan Gerdes, my Republican opponent, is taking cues from his longtime employer and kleptocrat, Rick Perry. Gerdes has hired three law firms to haul the Secretary of State and myself into court this coming Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 2 pm, to try to get my name off the ballot.

Stan's boss, Rick Perry, abused his power for years in attempts to stop independent and new party challengers.

It should not go without notice that Perry almost lost his shirt in 2006 when he was reelected in a four-way race with only 39% of the vote. Comptroller Carole Strayhorn had bolted the GOP to run as an independent for Governor.

I'm an optimist, which is why I use the slogan, "She's Our Rich Strike," the 80-1 shot that

won the Kentucky Derby. I'm not a betting woman. But if I was, I would bet all my money that most Texans are independents.
